19 ott 2012 · In addition, "Hypothermia" never really decides if it wants to be comical or not. The out of town family is so ridiculously over-the-top annoying that you would expect the movie to be a full-fledged horror-comedy, but there is no commitment to anything genuinely humorous, so ultimately the film ends up being neither funny or scary in any way whatsoever.

2.2 is pretty harsh there Letterboxd. The movie has issues sure, especially that pathetic ending. But you’ve got Micheal Rooker and family going up against a 50’s b-movie fish monster while trapped on a barren frozen lake. And there’s some good gore sprinkled throughout too!
However, the two squabbling families are forced to set aside their differences and work together after a vicious monster awakens from the cold waters of the remote frozen lake area they are staying at. This film is about Ray Palletier ('Michael Rooker') and his family. They have a cabin near a frozen lake where they can go fishing through the ice.
