Camper Van Beethoven was one of the first 'indie' bands as we know the term to imply. They were releasing their own records in the mid 1980s, a very unusual thing at the time. The band incorporated many styles of music into their sound, from punk, to ska, to eastern European folk to pop.

Formed in California in the early 1980s, Camper Van Beethoven consists now of Jonathan Segel, David Lowery, Chris Pedersen, Greg Lisher, Victor Krummenacher each of whom is now in a different part of the world. That didn’t keep the band from recording and releasing two albums in the last three years.

It was the band's final album before breaking up in 1990, although the band has reunited and released new material in recent years.
