  3. 3 gen 2018 · The Comsat Angels formed in 1978 in Sheffield, England, playing a harsh but melodic post-punk sound, featuring slashing guitars alongside icy keyboards. Through most of their career they maintained a stable line-up of Steve Fellows (guitar and vocals), Kevin Bacon (bass guitar - not the Hollywood actor!), Andy Peake (keyboards) and Mic Glaisher (drums).

  4. The Comsat Angels disbanded in late 1995 following UK dates to promote The Glamour. Steve Fellows released an instrumental album, Mood X, his first solo release, on RPM in late 1997 - and he is also currently working on a more "traditional" song-based solo album, as well as managing the band Gomez.

The album was reissued on CD in 2001 with five B-sides as bonus tracks for Jive's "Connoisseur Collection". The song "Independence Day," originally from their debut album, Waiting for a Miracle, was rerecorded for Land.

Unlike many of their contemporaries, punk wasn’t an instant call-to-arms for future frontman/guitarist Stephen Fellows, who found it “boorish”, though the subsequent sounds of Public Image Ltd. left more of an impression, alongside Television and Patti Smith.
