Sound Kapital is the third studio album by Canadian indie rock duo Handsome Furs.It was released through Sub Pop Records on June 28, 2011. According to a press release, Sound Kapital is inspired by the electronic and industrial music of 1980s Eastern Europe and it is the first album that Dan Boeckner wrote entirely on keyboards, although most songs do include guitars.
Handsome Furs entstand, als sich Spencer Krug und Dan Boeckner – die beiden Songschreiber und Sänger von Wolf Parade – anderen Projekten zuwandten, um ihre eigenen musikalischen Ideen besser umsetzen zu können. Spencer Krug gründete die Band Sunset Rubdown und Dan Boeckner mit Ehefrau und Schriftstellerin Alexei Perry das Duo Handsome Furs.
21 giu 2011 · The only thing the Handsome Furs leave unexplored is the inherent irony in railing against nostalgia using instrumentation and arrangements heavily borrowed from the ’80s. While the Handsome Furs successfully re-appropriate the harsh sounds of the industrial music movement for a less hardcore contemporary audience, the inspiration is older than I am.
