Meher Baba was born in Pune, India at the Sassoon Hospital on 25th of February, 1894 at 5:00 in the morning. His given birth name was Merwan Sheriar Irani. He was the second son of his father Sheriar Mundegar Irani, a Persian Zoroastrian who had been a wandering Sufi dervish before settling in Pune, and Sheriar's young wife, Shireen, who called him her "most beautiful child."

Avatar Meher Baba . Meher Baba was born Merwan Sheriar Irani on February 25th, 1894 to Irani parents, in a Jewish Hospital in Poona, India. He had a normal childhood and was educated at a Catholic school where He was a natural leader, loved and respected by his peers. He excelled in sports as well as poetry and music.
