  6. Maxine Kumin's poems are not only known but also lauded by many in the American literary society. One such poem is 'Woodchucks,' which had a charm for the many critics who knew the literal inspiration came from Kumin's love for her farm even though they mentioned her writing about social issues weakened her poems.
