Dorothy Binney Putnam was the first woman passenger to make the round trip. File includes a 1929 foldout map travel log booklet given to passengers as they began the journey. The booklet is titled, Coast to Coast by Plane and Train Illustrated Map and was published by Transcontinental Air Transport, Inc.

Putnam had undertaken to heavily promote Earhart in a campaign that included a series of lecture tours and using pictures of her image in mass market endorsements for products including luggage, Lucky Strike™ cigarettes.
