Richard Seal. Richard Godfrey Seal (4 December 1935 – 19 July 2022) was an English organist and conductor. From 1968 to 1997 he served as organist and master of the choristers at Salisbury Cathedral, [1] which in 1991 established a separate girls choir in addition to the existing boys cathedral choir, the first cathedral to do so.
History. St Catherine's School opened in 1885 with seventeen pupils, 11 boarders and 9 day pupils. Miss Susan Burnett was the founding headmistress. The school was founded during a time when various movements within the Church of England and other Christian denominations were pushing for more freedom for women, especially in matters such as participating in services and in education.
At one stage during the hunt for the thieves, suspicion fell on Winterfold House above Cranleigh where a police raid took place searching for some of the train robbers, but nothing was found. Later in the same vicinity some of the proceeds were discovered: £100,900 in a bag in Redlands Wood, a beauty spot two miles from Dorking , and a further £30,435 in a caravan on Box Hill Surrey.
