5 apr 2022 · John Adams studied composition at Harvard, where his teachers included Kirchner, Kim, Del Tredici and Sessions. Influenced by the music of Steve Reich, he started exploring minimalism, and works from this period include Shaker Loops (1978), Harmonium for orchestra with choir (1981), the exuberant, parodistic Grand Pianola Music (1982), the opera Nixon in China (1987) and a Violin Concerto (1993).
John Coolidge Adams (* 15. Februar 1947 in Worcester, Massachusetts) ist ein US-amerikanischer Komponist.
