Critics reviews. Julie is a young film student struggling to find a firm direction in life when she meets Anthony. An intense romance blossoms between them, but as the relationship develops it becomes clear that Anthony is not being completely honest, and that this could have devastating consequences for them both.
29 ott 2021 · "The Souvenir Part II" is more, though, than Julie's progression towards a completed film. It could be called, with apologies to James Joyce , A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Woman . Joyce's book showed a young man cutting ties with the outside forces on his life, first family, then religion, then country, in order to speak in his own voice as an artist.
Very slow, very boring. Film tries to capture that feeling of an intellectual, arthouse, cutting edge film when really the screenwriter needs to broaden their experience and have characters speak genuine dialogue that captures the human experience. Dialogue in this film is forced and superficial. Plot is typical.
