While the young Princess Victoria was not allowed to play with other children her age, she was blessed enough to have with her the care and affection of her older, half-sister, Princess Feodora of Leiningen. She was born on December 7, 1807 and was baptized Anna Feodora Auguste Charlotte Wilhelmine.
Adelheid was born the second daughter of Ernst I, Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg by his wife Princess Feodora of Leiningen, who was the older, maternal half-sister of the British Queen Victoria. Consequently, Adelheid was Queen Victoria's half-niece. She was nicknamed "Ada" by her family.

Feodora, Princess of Leiningen, was the only daughter of Emich Carl, 2nd Prince of Leiningen, and Victoria, Princess of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld, later Duchess of Kent, and half-sister of Queen Victoria. She married, in 1828, Ernest, Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg,with whom she had three sons and three daughters.
Feodora of Leiningen is Queen Victoria's half-sister. She is portrayed by the actress Kate Fleetwood in ITV's Victoria. She will appear in the third season of the television series.[1] Despite the age gap, Victoria and Feodora were said to have been quite close whilst living at Kensington Palace together. Victoria looked up to her elder sister and was devoted to her.
