Sandringham House, Gardens and St Mary Magdalene Church are now open from 23 March - 11 October excluding closure between 19 July - 4 August, from 10am -5pm (last entry 4pm). Sandringham Members, Carers, RHS Members, HHA Members and Children Under 17 are free, however tickets must still be obtained to visit the House and Gardens.
Sandringham is recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086 as “Sant Dersingham”, the sandy part of Dersingham, subsequently shortened to Sandringham. There is evidence of a residence on the present site of the House as early as 1296; prehistoric flint tools have been found in the area and there are remains of a Roman villa quite close to nearby Appleton Farm.

15 set 2022 · Sandringham continued to grow over subsequent years, and these later works greatly enhanced the composition, lending an organic quality to the ‘Jacobean’ architecture of the house. In 1883–5, a large single-storeyed Ballroom was added on the south-east side of the entrance forecourt.
