About Furslide. The atmospheric Furslide was led by Jennifer Turner, the former lead guitarist backing Natalie Merchant. The first act signed to producer/remixer Nellee Hooper's new Meanwhile... label, Furslide debuted in 1998 with Adventure. ~ Jason Ankeny. ORIGIN. New York, NY, United States. FORMED. 1997. GENRE.
They have released only one full-length album, called "Adventure", which was released on Meanwhile..., a sublabel of Virgin Records created by Nellee Hooper, on October, 6th 1998. Their lead vocalist, Jennifer Turner, was playing as a guitarist on the Tigerlily tour with Natalie Merchant, when Jennifer formed Furslide together with Jason Lader and Adam MacDougall in early 1997.

Adventure certainly isn’t the album you’d immediately expect from a band featuring the former guitarist for Natalie Merchant and produced by acclaimed producer/remixer Nellee Hooper. As lead guitarist on Merchant’s Tigerlily album and tour, Furslide’s Jennifer Turner awed critics with her “silky, spacious blues chords” and “airy… soaring” solos.
