The Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts is a public university in Berlin, Germany, that offers courses in acting and puppetry. Robert Schuster (born February 3, 1970 in Meißen) is a German stage director and drama school teacher. Schuster studied cultural sciences at Humboldt University of Berlin and stage direction at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin in the early 1990s. Together with his study mate Tom Kühnel, he later realized numerous theatre plays.
The Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts (German: Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch, HFS), based in the Niederschöneweide district of Berlin, Germany, was founded in 1951 as the National Theatre School in Berlin with the status of college. In 1981, it was granted university status, and a year later it was renamed after the singer and East German actor Ernst Busch.
In September 1981, three decades after its conversion from the Berlin Actor's Conservatoire, the school was given university status and named the celebrated actor Ernst Busch (1900–1980). In 1974 the Institute for Theatre Directing was included in the college program, followed in 1988 by a Choreography Department, which joined with Dance Performance in 2006 to become the Department of Dance.
