Screaming Trees est un groupe de rock américain, originaire d'Ellensburg, dans l'État de Washington. Apparenté au mouvement grunge , leur son était un mélange du rock psychédélique des années 1960 et du hard rock des années 1970 .
Screaming Trees fue una banda Grunge creada a mediados de los años '80 en Ellensburg, ciudad cercana a Seattle, cuna del movimiento grunge con bandas como Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden o Alice in Chains, y compuesta por el cantante Mark Lanegan, el guitarrista Gary Lee Conner, el bajista Van Conner (hermano de Gary), y el batería Mark Pickerel.
18 mar 2022 · By the end of the 80s the Trees had released another three albums: 1987’s Even If And Especially When, 1988’s Invisible Lantern and 1989’s Buzz Factory, all on pivotal US underground label SST. But tensions were growing. That Gary Lee Conner insisted on writing most of the band’s material was causing consternation.
11 ago 2014 · Although not my favorite from the Screaming Trees, Invisible Lantersn perfectly shows on overshadowed the band's early stuff is compared to their grunge days which is ultimately a shame as this record is one of the best early Neo-Psychedelia, Alternative Rock records out there for quite a raw but quite warm and melodic experience.

Where many of their Seattle-based contemporaries dealt in reconstructed Black Sabbath and Stooges riffs, Screaming Trees fused '60s psychedelia and garage rock with '70s hard rock and '80s punk. Over the course of their career, their more abrasive punk roots eventually gave way to a hard-edged, rootsy psychedelia that drew from rock and folk equally.
