I am somewhat confused as to why Jimmie Dale Gilmore recorded this. It often sounds a bit like it was a contractual obligation. Jimmie Dale has one of the most distinctive and enjoyable voices around but to me he sounds bored and disinterested. Bluegrass music can be a bit like traditional jazz, with musicians jamming together and having fun.
