Welcome to Herron School of Art and Design! Indiana University's Herron School of Art and Design is a professional art school. That means when you come to Herron as an undergraduate, you will be earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (unless you are studying Art History or Art Education)—not a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree.
Cory Robinson is an artist, designer, and professor at the Herron School of Art & Design in Indianapolis, IN. He has an MFA in Applied Design from San Diego State University and has taught studio arts at Herron since the spring of 2003.
Herron’s Bachelor of Fine Arts degree program in furniture design is one of the very best in the country and provides for the full development of studio designers and makers. Contemporary woodworking is the foundation of our program, but we place equal emphasis on thinking and making with sustainability in mind.
We're looking for your strongest works of art and design. Consider submitting media that demonstrates your creativity and problem solving abilities. We are looking for innovative ideas, conceptual development, interesting compositions, and a readiness to explore the visual arts and design in addition to technical skills and craftsmanship.
What I love about the design thinking certificate program is that I was able to make a direct correlation to my work, the very first week of class. The tools and methods you'll master while in this program can be used to approach and solve any kind of problem – whether it be in the office or at home.
