Ioannis Metaxas ( græsk: Ιωάννης Μεταξάς) ( 12. april 1871 på Ithaka – 29. januar 1941 i Athen) var en græsk general, der blev udpeget til Grækenlands statsminister af kong Georg 2. i 1936. Landet var under hans ledelse et nationalkonservativt diktatur, og skønt Metaxas aldrig vandt et valg, nød han parlamentets tillid.
Ioannis Metaxas was born in the legendary island of Ithaca but spent his youth in Kefalonia, Greece, an island in the Ionian Sea, and always considered himself a Kefalonian. A career soldier, he entered at an early age the Scholi Evelpidon , the Greek Military Academy, where he displayed a talent for soldiering and strategy, graduating at the top of his class in 1889.
