Robert Pinsky is one of America’s foremost poet-critics. He earned his BA from Rutgers University in 1962 and his MA and PhD in philosophy from Stanford University in 1966, where he was a Wallace Stegner Fellow in creative writing.
Robert Pinsky is the author of 19 books, his most recent including his Selected Poems and the anthology Singing School: Learning to Write (and Read) Poetry by Studying with the Masters (read the excerpts “The Pursuit of Form” and “Freedom in Poetry” in our Learning Lab).
