Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising is a pretty low-impact experience, particularly on Nintendo Switch; combat, even against screen-filling boss monsters, never feels very high-stakes as save points are frequent and the checkpointing is fairly generous.

It’s also available on Xbox Game Pass, which is how I was able to test the Xbox Series X version of this game, despite the review copy that was provided by AVE Tech being for PC.

10 mag 2022 · Rising, after all, is a prequel intended to invite players into the world and vision of Eiyuden Chronicle - It is just act one to a much grander story. Luckily, it shines in a multitude of ways other than the story. The visuals are great, reminiscent of the 2.5D stylings of the likes of Octopath Traveller and Triangle Strategy.
