It is over Tom Gate, on St Aldates, the main entrance of Christ Church, Oxford, which leads into Tom Quad. This square tower with an octagonal lantern and facetted ogee dome was designed by Christopher Wren and built 1681–82.
Christ Church, established by Henry VIII in 1546 is one of Oxford’s largest colleges. Located in the heart of the city it’s conveniently close to museums, shops and restaurants. Check-in at the Porters’ Lodge, located at the main entrance, off Tom Gate. The lodge reception is staffed 24-hours a day.

Christ Church is located on St Aldates, an easy walk of no more than a few minutes from Oxford city centre. Visitors wishing to look around the college and cathedral must book tickets online in advance. They should then go to the Visitor Centre in the Meadow to redeem their tickets.
