Our Beginnings. The history of RTSFC is a varied and interesting one, stretching as far back as 1760. Our namesake is Alderman Richard Taunton (1684 – 1752) who was a former Mayor of Southampton. Taunton left a bequest which was to be used for the ‘bringing up children in work and industry, fitting them for place at sea’.
So much of what we do can be related to real life situations, and you can really build up your skills and feel prepared for whatever comes next, whether that‘s employment or university - and you can have fun doing it! You will finalise your courses, enrol as a student, pick up your student ID, and become a fully-fledged Richard Taunton student.
