School Holiday Dates 2023-2024. Schools will re-open for teachers only on Friday, 1st September 2023 (training day). There are 4 other training days to be taken during 2023-24. These will be published to Parents and Carers in advance. Pupils will return to school on Tuesday, 3rd September 2024.
Ysgol Friars is an 11-18 co-educational comprehensive school. There has been a school bearing the name of Friars in the City of Bangor since 1557. Ysgol Friars is a bi-lingual 11-18 mixed comprehensive school maintained by Gwynedd local authority. There are 1,234 pupils on roll compared with 1,328 pupils when the school was last inspected in September 2011. There are 211 pupils in the sixth form. The school serves the university city of Bangor and the surrounding area.
