Music scholarships at The Grammar School at Leeds We have a proud music tradition here at GSAL and music is an essential part of school life. We offer a small number of music scholarships to new pupils joining the school into Year 7 and, depending on the scholar’s musical ability, the scholarship is worth either a 20% reduction on school fees or covers the cost of instrumental lessons.
The Grammar School at Leeds was established by the merger of Leeds Grammar School and Leeds Girls' High School in 2005. The schools operated on two separate sites some distance between each other. Leeds Girls' High School operated from three separate sites in Headingley, whilst Leeds Grammar School had a 138-acre (0.56 km 2 ) modern campus in Alwoodley.

In Years 10 and 11 we provide an extensive and balanced range of GCSE subjects. The core curriculum subjects are English language; English literature; maths; biology, chemistry and physics (leading to either a double science award or three separate GCSE subjects); a modern foreign language of the student’s choice and religious studies.
