Harrodian was founded in 1993. Before that our riverside location on the south bank of the Thames in Barnes served as a farm, a private residence and a sports club. This time line charts the history of our beautiful site as well as Harrodian's growth into maturity over its first quarter century as a school.

6 ott 2017 · In head James Hooke’s words, the Harrodian is ‘a land of opportunities’: a happy, harmonious co-ed in beautiful surroundings. It’s ever evolving, and Mr Hooke is keen to dispel its celebrity-school image: ‘It’s just not what we are these days,’ he says.
Harrodian is a high-achieving school for approximately 1,000 boys and girls aged 4-18 set in a beautiful riverside location on the south bank of the Thames at Barnes in south west London.The generous 25-acre site includes distinct departments for three separate age groups: Pre-Prep (4-7+), Prep (8-12+) and Senior/6th Form (13-18+) that form a single, close-knit whole.
On the last day of the Autumn Term and Summer Term all pupils finish school before lunch - the Pre-Prep Department finishes at 11.30am, the Prep School at 12 noon and the Senior School at 12.30 p.m. Please note, however, that the last day of each Spring Term is a full school day, i.e. Pre-Prep children ending at 3.15/3.25pm.
