The Circle in the Square Theatre School began when Circle in the Square Theatre was located on Bleecker Street in Greenwich Village. The theatre was producing professional plays on a regular basis and hiring young actors. Producer, Theodore Mann wanted to be part of the training of the potential actors for their productions.
Joining Circle in the Square Theatre School means you’ll be part of a collaborative family who will challenge you and support you in your growth. The faculty is comprised of professionals who have worked all over the world, on Broadway, in film, and more.
At its inception, Circle in the Square Theatre School only had fifteen students. Now, every year, between its four programs, Circle has approximately 150 students walk through its doors to hone their craft and become great actors.
Applications for Circle in the Square Theatre School’s Two-Year Conservatory and Summer Intensives are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.
Classes offered at for the 2 Year Professional Workshop at Circle in the Square Theatre School are broken down into 4 sections; ACTING, MUSICAL THEATRE, MOVEMENT, VOICE AND SPEECH. 1st Year CONTEMPORARY SCENE STUDY – This first year course aims to lay the foundation for an actor’s study of their craft as it relates to contemporary text.

Federal Financial Aid and Circle Scholarships are available to assist you with the Cost of Attendance if you meet eligibility requirements. Circle in the Square Theatre School offers intense, actor-driven programs that are also affordable for the actor.
