Nowadays, Mike d’Abo will only appear on a select few Manfreds dates and, following the retirement from touring of Mike Hugg and also Rob Townsend being unfortunately sidelined, the current line up featuring Paul Jones, Tom McGuinness, Marcus Cliffe, Simon Currie, Pete Riley and Mike Gorman are becoming well known for their show of ‘Hits, Jazz & Blues’.
The original Manfreds bass player, who Tom McGuinness replaced when it became apparent Dave's jazz leanings didn't sit with the R & B direction the band was moving towards at the time. After leaving the band in 1963 Dave became a session player, working with amongst others Elton John, Bread, and Hank Marvin.
