Colin Newman is Wire's front-man, rhythm guitarist and main tunesmith. In recent years, he's also become Wire's premier back-room boy, responsible for mixing, post-production and authoring all Wire releases. He also runs the Pinkflag label, which releases new and archive Wire material, on behalf of the band.

27 ott 2021 · I first heard Colin Newman with his A-Z album, which is still my favourite album of his. I couldn’t state a favourite, but one track I constantly go to is S-S-S-Star Eyes, for the sheer, frenetic joy of it. But it’s best to hear the album in full, starting with I’ve Waited Ages (!!!).

Given Newman’s ever-changing creative mind, Bastard was a naturally unforeseen left turn. Bastard was a clinical and primitive, yet charming exercise of playing with trip-hop, downtempo, and minimalist techno.
1 apr 2020 · Wire has created some of the most satisfying music of your career in the last decade. With the Silver / Lead (2017) album pushing the band in a psychedelic-punk direction. The first single from the album, ‘Short Elevated Period’, was an amazing blast of punk energy. Easily one of the 10 best songs the band has ever recorded.
