Sebagai film yang mengusung genre komedi dan laga, Keeping Up with the Joneses justru gagal menyeimbangkan kedua unsur itu dengan baik. Unsur laga jauh di bawah komedi walau dikemas dengan cukup apik. Adegan kaca ditembak, kejar-kejaran mobil, tembak-menembak sampai misi berbahaya ditampilkan hanya saja porsinya terasa terlalu sedikit.
