Terence Fisher and Peter Cushing reunite for one last Frankenstein film, and it's the most gruesome of the series. 31 ago 2022 · Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell was not a commercial success. In its first week at the London Astoria, it took £1,774 (less than £14,000 today) – just over 1% of what it cost to make. A far cry from The Curse of Frankenstein , which broke records in its first weekend, and went on to gross over seventy times its production costs.
Partly poignant, partly grotesque, 1973's Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell (FatMfH) is like its subject a mosaic of contrasting elements. It was the last in Hammer's multi-installment Frankenstein series (almost all of which starred Peter Cushing as the titular Baron Frankenstein) and the swan song for the studio's most triumphant director Terence Fisher.
