8 gen 2008 · They had a chance to make a meaningful film about two very interesting historical characters and chose to turn it into burlesque. Gleason and Carney would have done an outstanding job of portraying the real Izzy and Moe. Their exploits were so much better than the fictional pap served up in this movie.
