Michelle Shocked (de son vrai nom Karen Michelle Johnston, née le 24 février 1962 à Dallas) est une chanteuse américaine de musique folk, blues country et rock. Cette interprète et compositrice militante a mené une vie itinérante aux États-Unis et en Europe tout au long des années 1980 .
About Michelle Shocked. In the mid-'80s, Shocked represented the acceptable face of the iconoclastic "anti-folk" movement, but her bare-bones acoustic sound soon gave way to a larger ideal that incorporated bluegrass, roots-rock, and even swing. Though her media star dimmed by the mid-'90s, her music remained as powerful as ever.
