William Thomas Rodgers, Baron Rodgers of Quarry Bank, PC (born Liverpool, Lancashire 28 October 1928), usually known as William Rodgers but also often known as Bill Rodgers, was one of the "Gang of Four" of senior British Labour Party politicians who defected to form the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
William Thomas Rodgers was born in Liverpool on 28 October 1928. He was educated at Sudley Road Council School, Quarry Bank High School and Magdalen College, Oxford. He married Silvia Szulman in 1955. Rodgers joined the Labour party when he was 18 years old. At 22 he took a job with the Fabian Society.
