De muziekstijl van Los Lobos vormde een zeer belangrijke bron van inspiratie voor onder meer de Limburgse band Rowwen Hèze. Los Lobos' Grammywinnende nummer Anselma werd door Rowwen Hèze in 1989 omgewerkt tot het nummer Bestel Mar. In 1991 had Rowwen Hèze hier in Nederland een hit mee.
