4 ore fa · Over a decade after Stow’s account, Raphael Holinshed’s Chronicles of England, Scotland, and Ireland, known as Holinshed’s Chronicles (1577 and 1587), was published. In the nineteenth century, scholars identified that William Shakespeare drew in 13 of his plays on the 1587 version which is why it is ‘often referred to as “Shakespeare’s Holinshed”’ (Story Donno, 1987 , p. 229).
