Hugh Norman Ross (born July 24, 1945) is a Canadian astrophysicist, Christian apologist, and old-Earth creationist. Ross obtained his Ph.D. in astronomy from the University of Toronto and his B.Sc. degree in physics from the University of British Columbia. He established his own ministry in 1986, called Reasons to Believe.
Hugh Ross is founder and senior scholar of Reasons to Believe, an organization dedicated to communicating the compatibility of science and the Christian faith. While in college, Hugh committed his life to Jesus Christ after his study of cosmology convinced him of the existence of a Creator, specifically the God of the Bible.
This mission started with RTB president and founder, Dr. Hugh Ross. Often you will find Dr. Ross engaging in his favorite activity, responding to questions about science and faith. His fervor began at age seven when he went to the library to find out why stars are hot.
It was founded in 1986 by Hugh Ross, a Canadian-born astrophysicist and creationist Christian apologist. Former Vice-President of Research and Apologetics, Fazale Rana, was named President and CEO in July 2022.
