After touring the U.S. in support of Blue Earth, Spencer left the band and was replaced in 1988 by Ken Callahan, who stayed with the band until 1993. Ken Callahan joined alternative country band Jayhawks in 1991, replacing drummer Thad Spencer who had left "to pursue other projects". He was followed up by Tim O'Reagan early 1995.
