Boudica led 100,000 Iceni troops, Trinovantes, and others in battle against Legio IX Hispana and succeeded in burning and destroying Londinium and Verulamium (now St Albans).[3][4] An estimated 70,000–80,000 Romans and British in these three cities were killed by Boudica's forces.[5]
