John Kenneth Wetton (12 June 1949 – 31 January 2017) was an English musician, singer, and songwriter. Although he was left handed, he was known as a dexterous right handed bass player and had a booming baritone voice. He joined the band Family in 1971 for a short time before joining King Crimson in 1972.
Musician, songwriter, singer and “top bloke” (as Geoff Downes describes him), John Wetton lived a truly extraordinary life. Contributors compelling tributes are equal to those from friends and family.

Per sottoporsi alle sedute di chemioterapia aveva annunciato la rinuncia al tour primaverile della superband nata agli inizi degli anni Ottanta dalle ceneri degli Yes e degli Emerson, Lake & Palmer.
Born in Derby, raised in Bournemouth, John Wetton first cut his musical teeth on church music at his family’s piano, soon discovering a knack for song writing with an early bandmate, Richard Palmer-James; a relationship that would continue to flourish through five decades.
