New York Film Academy, commonly known as NYFA, was founded in 1992 by Jerry Sherlock, executive producer of The Hunt for Red October (1990), as an alternative to traditional university-based film schools.
NYFA’s New York campus is located in a modern, multi-level space. Our purpose-built classrooms and studios are specifically designed for filmmaking, photography, production, editing, performance, dance, and voice. Our New York campus also has a fully outfitted theater and expansive equipment library.
