Milton Jackson (January 1, 1923 – October 9, 1999), nicknamed " Bags ", was an American jazz vibraphonist. [1] He is especially remembered for his cool swinging solos as a member of the Modern Jazz Quartet and his penchant for collaborating with hard bop and post-bop players.

12 ott 1999 · Remembering Milt Jackson. Vibraphonist Milt Jackson died from liver cancer. He played with Earl Hine's big band, and Dizzy Gillespie's. He took his style not from another vibraphonist but from Charlie Parker, and was the first bona fide bebop musician on the vibraphone.
