The aim of St Columb's is to enable its pupils to realise their full moral, social, intellectual, physical and aesthetic potential. The College works towards increasing pupils' self-discipline and, above all, at deepening their Christian faith and affirming them in its practice.
St Columb's College (Irish: Coláiste Naomh Colum Cille) is a Roman Catholic boys' grammar school in Derry, Northern Ireland. Since 2008, it has been a specialist school in mathematics. It is named after Saint Columba, the missionary monk from County Donegal who founded a monastery in the area.

Welcome to St. Columba’s College, on the edge of the Dublin Hills and overlooking the vibrant capital city of Ireland. It is a great privilege to be the Warden of this very special school. St. Columba’s is a relatively small school, with around 350 pupils, of whom about 250 are boarding.
When he was twelve years of age, Seamus Heaney won a scholarship to St. Columb’s College, a Catholic boarding school situated in the city of Derry, forty miles away from the home farm, and this first departure from Mossbawn was the decisive one.
