Robert Derhak, also known simply as Rob, is the bass guitar player and a founding member of the American jam band moe. History. Derhak's earliest known time performing as a member of a band was on Halloween 1989, playing at a party with guitarist Chuck Garvey and a drummer named Ray Schwartz.
I do appreciate you wanting to share the reason that we’ve all been super curious about for moe pulling out of scamp, but I agree with some who’ve already expressed this here - it’s not your place to share this news to the fans when Rob nor the band have made a public statement yet.
Moe announced an indefinite hiatus beginning August 1, 2017, while bassist Rob Derhak underwent treatment for oropharyngeal cancer. Derhak was declared cancer-free in December 2017 which coincided with Moe announcing a 2018 return to live performance.
