In 2024, Oldham sang lead vocals on every song on Austin, Texas project Thee Conductor's third full-length album Ennoia. 22 feb 2024 · For his latest album, ‘Ennoia’ Butler has extensively collaborated with Will Oldham, aka Bonnie “Prince” Billy, who sings on all the tracks, but also with Wilco’s Glenn Kotche and Tosca String Quartet, who work with David Byrne, as well as a few others.
Austin musician Jason Butler returns as Thee Conductor, his musical alter-ego, on Ennoia, a new song cycle of poignant compositions and contemplative beauty. Known as an artist who frequently collaborates on his releases, Butler has again enlisted Will Oldham (as Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy) to sing, this time on every track.
Adding to the magic of “Ennoia”, Butler invited the legendary Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy (Will Oldham) to lend his emotive and vulnerable voice instrument to each track. The partnership between Oldham’s voice and Butler’s lyrics is truly unique, creating an honest and poignant listening experience that will tug at your heartstrings.
