The Catherine Wheel is an album by Scottish-American musician David Byrne, released in 1981 by Sire Records. It contains Byrne's musical score for choreographer Twyla Tharp 's dance project of the same name.

The music is herky-jerky, minimalist, mesmerizing, and more or less what you’d expect from the auteur of Remain in Light and My Life in the Bush of Ghosts ...
It really seems to be Byrne driven affair, but has a nice set of guest musicians: Adrian Belew, Brian Eno, Bernie Worrell. Twyla Tharpe even drops in doing water pot. This is, of course, a score for a Broadway dance piece.
