O'Connor mainly plays CGDA tuned tenor banjo, instead of the usual Irish tuning GDAE. He plays a David Boyle banjo on almost every tour since 1996, but usually records with an Epiphone Recording A banjo. Discography. 2 set 2018 · Gerry “banjo” O’Connor played banjo and fiddle with the band Four Men and a Dog during the 1990s. O’Connor’s music has been featured on the BBC Series Tacsi and he has appeared as a guest on over 12 albums by such artists as Gordon Duncan and Niamh Parsons.
Time to Time Great contributions by Brenden O Regan, arrangement wise as well as stellar playing. Same with Gerry O Connors , “ No Place like Home” album which O Regan produced, and it garnered some serious kudos in the press.
Gerry O’Connor. Gerry is a native of Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. He has brought the Tenor Banjo to places no other player had tread before. He has travelled the world – physically and musically – experimenting with everything from Irish to bluegrass to African and Asian, and back to Irish.
