Frequency Unknown is Queensrÿche's last album to be produced by Slater, and was the final album he produced prior to his death in 2020. It was revealed to the public on April 28, 2014, that Geoff Tate lost the rights to the Queensrÿche trademark.

Visto il buono che si intravede in “Frequency Unknown”, meglio ignorare tale presunto esperimento riponendo la speranza nella voglia di Geoff Tate di rimettersi in gioco e riaccendere completamente il suo indiscutibile talento, prescindendo dalle guerre di orgoglio.
