The Shouting Stage is the 11th studio album by the British singer-songwriter Joan Armatrading, released on 29 June 1988 by A&M Records. It was written, arranged and produced entirely by Armatrading herself, and recorded at her home studio (Bumpkin), with mixing done at Olympic Studios, London.

14 lug 2017 · Despite its title, The Shouting Stage is one of Joan Armatrading’s most restrained albums. The opening “The Devil I Know,” with its sophisticated jazz/blues setting, lets you know that she won’t be trying to rock your socks off.

Alan Clark (born 5 March 1952) is an English musician who was the first keyboardist and co-producer of the rock band Dire Straits. In 2018, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a significant member of the band.
