Clongowes Wood College SJ is a Catholic voluntary boarding school for boys near Clane, County Kildare, Ireland, founded by the Jesuits in 1814. It features prominently in James Joyce's semi-autobiographical novel A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. One of five Jesuit secondary schools in Ireland, it had 450 students in 2019.

Admissions. The main entry points to Clongowes are at first year and senior cycle although we do accept students in other years depending on available spaces. We appreciate that choosing a school for your son is a very important decision and one that can shape his life in very positive ways.
29 ott 2014 · About. On 18 May 1814 Clongowes Wood College, received its first pupil, James MacLorinan, of Dublin. His parents were drapers. The college’s Mission Statement speaks of educating our pupils ‘according to the best traditions and highest standards of Jesuit schooling and the values of the Gospel’.
