Julius Orlovsky, dopo aver trascorso alcuni anni in un ospedale psichiatrico di New York, è in uno stato catatonico e si affida al fratello Peter, che vive con il poeta Allen Ginsberg. A un certo punto del film Julius scompare e il suo personaggio viene interpretato da un attore.
